Telangana State works towards return of residents stranded in Nepal

KCR directed CMO officials to offer financial and other assistance to the stranded

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Saturday wrote to the Indian high commissioner in Kathmandu seeking details of the Telangana tourists in earthquake-hit Nepal.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao directed chief secretary Rajiv Sharma and officials from the disaster management and revenue departments to be in constant touch with Indian high commission in Nepal till the stranded people return home.

He directed CMO officials to offer financial and other assistance to the stranded. Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya told reporters that the Union external affairs ministry was taking all the measures to help Telugus return home.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken to the Nepal government and steps were being taken for the safe return of Indians.
