Matriculation school to get permanent recognition

Madras high court directed the director of matriculation schools to consider granting recognition
Chennai: Coming to the rescue of a matriculation school in Dindigul district, the Madras high court directed the director of matriculation schools to consider granting permanent recognition to the school from LKG to class 10, on fulfilling all the requirements pointed out by him. Allowing a petition from Kaviyan school represented by its correspondent C. Deenathayalapandian, Justice .S Vaidyanathan set aside an order of the director of matriculation schools, dated November 18, 2014, requiring the school to fulfil three conditions for granting temporary recognition, with a threat of imposition of penalty.
According to the petitioner, it was a trust which acquired 14.88 acres in Indira Nagar, Malayakoundanpatti, under a 30-year lease. As the trust decided to run a school, building plan approval was obtained from the president, Malayakoundanpatti panchayat in 2009 as required under the Tamil Nadu panchayat buildings rules for construction of the ground floor of the school.
On August 28, 2009, the authorities granted permission to the petitioner school and subsequently in 2010, granted temporary recognition for three years from June 2009. Thereafter, it was renewed periodically. However, on November 18, 2014, the authorities passed an order, requiring the petitioner to fulfil three conditions for granting temporary recognition.
