The authorities claimed that the cameras were installed to monitor the lockers

Kolkata: Weeks after Union HRD minister Smriti Irani spotted cameras inside the changing room of a renowned store while holidaying in Goa, CCTV cameras were spotted inside the women’s changing room of a water park in Kolkata on Sunday.

According to sources, a woman who had gone to this water park along with her family members, suddenly spotted a CCTV camera while changing. This lady also claimed that as many as seven CCTV cameras were placed in a way to film a woman.

Immediately, she raised an alarm and informed the authorities. The authorities denied any such allegations and claimed that the cameras were installed to monitor the lockers and not capture any woman while she changes her clothes.

The water park authorities alleged that the old women’s changing room is being renovated, so for the time being, the changing room has been shifted to the men’s locker room. And the cameras were to monitor the lockers and not film any woman while changing.

We have noticed that one CCTV camera is present inside the changing room. We are verifying the complaint and will carry out more thorough searches,” said superintendent of police, South 24 Parganas, Praveen Kumar Tripathi.
