5 killed, 22 injured as vehicle turns turtle in Madhya Pradesh

Rajgarh: As many as five persons were killed today and 22 others injured when the vehicle carrying them overturned at a village near here, police said.

The mishap occurred at Goghatpur, around 70 km from here, when a marriage party that had come to Ghagori village from Jhalawar district in Rajasthan, was returning, Machalpur police station sub inspector Mohan Singh Rajput said.

The axle of the bus broke following which the driver lost control and it overturned in which Balaram Dangi (35), Prabhulal Dangi (40) and Radhashyam Dangi (25) - all locals - were killed on the spot, he said.

Two others succumbed to their injuries during their treatment in Jhalwar.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Jhalawar and investigations are underway, the officer added.
