Rumours are afoot that Trisha and Varun Manian may not be setting a wedding date after all

It looks like all is not well between actress Trisha and her fiancé, businessman and producer Varun Manian. The couple got engaged in January this year after a whirlwind courtship. Their engagement was celebrated in a traditional ceremony followed by an extravagant party at a star hotel. At the time of engagement, it was announced that the wedding would take place towards the end of the year.
However, now one hears that there may not be a wedding as Trisha and Varun are believed to have hit a rough patch in their relationship. The two used to be very active on social media, retweeting each other’s updates and pictures, but this interplay stopped over the last month, which led to some amount of speculation. Fuelling doubts was the fact that Trisha did not attend an important function in the Manian household recently.
She has also stopped wearing her engagement ring. On the work front too, Varun was to produce a film with Trisha and Jai, but the actress backed out of the production. When asked, Trisha did clarify that she hadn’t signed the film in the first place, but sources say that she was not keen on working with his production house. A source close to the Manian family also spoke about growing differences between the couple, and some of Trisha’s friends confirmed that mutual incompatibility had led to this situation. However, sources told this newspaper that a few family friends and well-wishers were intent on helping sort out the differences between them.
Career-wise, Trisha is going great guns. Gautham Menon’s Yennai Arindhaal brought her accolades following which she has signed a horror film to be made by her manager Giridhar, a female-centric film Bhogi, and yet another flick with Kamal Haasan, which is titled Ore Iravu. Talks are also on for a few bilinguals and a Hollywood film.
Trisha was not available for comment and Varun, who has been out of the country, too was unreachable.
