Hidden pavement hole lands London woman in hospital
London: A London woman has been admitted to a hospital on Thursday after she fell in a hole that appeared in a pavement as she hurried along a street during rush hour, The Daily Mail said. Onlookers heard a loud scream before the woman, who has not been identified, ‘disappeared’ in the eight foot deep hole in the road outside a cafe in Fulham, south west London, and landed on the rubble below. Ambulance crew were called immediately to the spot around 8.50 am to help get the woman out.
Kate Sissons, a witness, posted a picture on Instagram, saying: “OMG! Poor woman just disappeared down this hole on North End Rd. Shes stuck down there.” A nearby flower stall owner, who asked not to be named, said: “The hole had been blocked off with tables and chairs but she had squeezed through and went straight down. We looked over and she was down. She had walked onto it and it had collapsed beneath her.’
