DMK treasurer urged AIADMK to reconsider its support for the “anti people legislation”
Chennai: DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin has urged the AIADMK to reconsider its support for the controversial land acquisition Bill pushed by the Modi regime. Condoling the suicide of a farmer during a rally the AAP had taken out in the national capital in protest of the Land Acquisition Bill, Stalin on Thursday posted a message on his Facebook page saying, “This suicide is a warning sign to the Central government. I appeal to them (Centre) to act promptly and drop the anti-farmers land acquisition Bill.”
Urging the AIADMK to reconsider its support for the “anti people legislation”, the DMK treasurer said, “Land is not merely an economic asset. It is a source of livelihood for families. Landowners have an emotional connection to their land that connect be compensated using money.”
The DMK has repeatedly accused the AIADMK of supporting the controversial Bill with an ulterior motive. DMK party president M. Karunanidhi had on more than an occasion linked the Bengaluru case to the party’s support to the controversial Bill in Parliament.
