Red sanders smuggling: CBI inquiry sought into Andhra Pradesh, Telangana killings
Visakhapatnam: Leaders and activists of Human Rights Forum (HRF) and few other organisations on Thursday staged a protest against the killing of 20 woodcutters at Seshachalam forest in Chittoor district by Andhra Pradesh police and five undertrials in Telangana by TS police on April 7.
Speaking at the protest, general secretary of HRF, V.S. Krishna said the police-claimed gun battle was a fake encounter and it was a one-sided firing by the police of AP and TS. Mr Krishna demanded a CBI probe into the two encounter killings in AP and Telangana which claimed 25 lives.
The protesters denounced the cold-blooded custodial killing of five undertrial prisoners while being taken from Warangal jail to the court in Hyderabad by TS cops.
T. Sriramamurthy of Civil Liberties Committee of Vizag said governments are encouraging cops to kill innocents in the name of encounters. There is an urgent need to stage protests against the governments, the leaders added.
