IAS officer DK Ravi case: State assures CBI all possible support
Bengaluru: The Special Crime Branch team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the death of IAS officer D.K. Ravi, on Thursday met Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee and Principal Secretary, Home S.K. Patnaik and sought logistic support and material assistance from the state government during the investigation.
“We have assured them all possible assistance and support,” Mr Mukherjee told this newspaper. The government will provide them with facilities like boarding and lodging, transport and also translation of the First Information Report, case files and other documents, which are written in Kannada.
It is reliably learnt that the CBI sleuths have reportedly assured the government of a transparent and timely investigation though the agency had initially denied taking up the case because of the three-month deadline tag.
The investigation was earlier taken up by the city police then transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department on March 18 before it was handed over the CBI on March 24. The CBI will investigate the cause of death of the IAS officer.
