Four fake police officers held for theft
They threatened the victims and stole their mobile phones
Hyderabad: The crime team of Sultan Bazaar arrested six persons, including four pseudo cops, for robbing people, in two separate cases on Thursday.
According to the Sultan Bazar police, Mahbub Ali, Sohail Ali, Sajid and Azar, would target passengers in autorickshaws. They take them to secluded place and rob them. Recently, they posed as police officers from the Central Crime Station and approached three youngsters at a mobile store in Gujarati Galli. They threatened the victims and stole their mobile phones.
“They abducted them and took them in an autorickshaw. They dropped them off after robbing their mobile phones and cash,” said K.R. Kishore Kumar, detective inspector, Sultan Bazaar.
The police recovered Rs 59,000 cash, phones, etc. from them. In another case, two ragpickers, identified as Deepak Singh and Purushotham Reddy, attacked two labourers at Chaderghat crossroads.
The accused were in an inebriated condition and tried to steal from the victims who were sleeping on the pavement. When they woke up and retaliated, the accused attacked them with blades and fled the spot.
Mr Kishore said both the accused were arrested and the blades were recovered. They were produced in court and sent to judicial remand.
