The workers have been hailed as heroes after the dramatic rescue
Two migrant workers from Chennai helped rescue a toddler whose head was stuck between railings at a high storied building in Singapore. The toddler was found stuck between the rails of a second-floor bedroom window at Jurong East Street in Singapore according to reports.
the brave hearts will be presented with a SCDF Public Spiritedness Award to "acknowledge the quick thinking and civic-mindedness of the two members of public".
In the video, the worker can be seen climbing up the ledge and attempting to free the toddler.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), who arrived five minutes later, managed to free the child.
The two workers were identified later as Subramaniam Shanmuganathan and Ponnan Muthukumar and have both received awards for saving the toddler stuck between railings.
An SCDF spokesman was quoted in the
Strait Times: "From the ground floor, they swiftly climbed up to the second floor and released the little girl's head prior to the arrival of the SCDF. SCDF firefighters brought the little girl down to safety using a ladder."
