Jawed Karim was the man behind the concept of the video-sharing site. The video titled ‘Me at the Zoo’ was the first video uploaded on YouTube on April 23, 2005.
YouTube has 800 million unique users per month. Around 77,826 viewers subscribed to this video and viewers started sharing it online. YouTube has now become a major source for marketing and promotion of trailers, smartphone launches, online movie clips etc.
Reports also state that the 'Gangnam' style viral dance received around 2.24 billion views on Youtube.
YouTube consumed as much bandwidth as the entire Internet in 2000.
