CM Naidu expressed displeasure over the functioning of his Cabinet colleagues
Hyderabad: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed displeasure over the functioning of his Cabinet colleagues and asked them to submit annual performance reports by June 8, when the TD government completes a year in office.
Ministers R. Kishore Babu and Devineni Umamaheshwara Rao received Mr Naidu’s praise for their efficiency. Mr Ch Ayyanna Patrudu and Mr Ganta Srinivasa Rao were reprimanded for infighting. Both were told to fall in line and work for development of the state.
The infighting should not be stretched to such an extent wherein Mr Naidu would be compelled to take serious action such as dropping them, they were told. The Cabinet also approved amendments to the Forest Act to check smuggling of red sanders.
Red sanders smuggling will be a non-bailable offence. Those caught for the first time will face not less than 5 years in jail Rs 3 lakh fine. Those arrested for second time will be jailed for not less than seven years with a fine of Rs 5 lakh. Properties of the arrested red sander smugglers can be seized.
