The wait is finally over! iOS users can now try out the free voice calling feature on WhatsApp.
The Apple iTunes Store sends out a notification on the app update page stating – ‘Call your friends and family using WhatsApp for free, even if they’re in another country. WhatsApp calls uses your phone’s Internet connection rather than your cellular plan’s voice minutes’. Media reports state that the 2.12.1 version of WhatsApp allows iOS users to avail the voice-calling feature for free.
The latest WhatsApp update for iOS also features iOS 8 share extensions and quick camera button extensions in chats as well. iOS users can share photos, videos and links on WhatsApp from other apps, with the help of iOS 8 share extensions. Additionally, one can also crop and rotate the videos before sharing it with your WhatsApp friends.
Till date, only a handful of iOS users have been successful in getting the access to the latest voice-calling feature on WhatsApp. Are you one of them who hasn’t received this update? Don’t worry, the voice-calling feature is slowly being rolled out in phases.
