China, Pakistan launch joint think tank called RANDI, Twitter goes berserk
Islamabad: A joint Pakistan-China think tank named ‘RANDI’ has become the butt of all jokes on social media.
The think tank ‘Research and Development International’ will focus on China-Pakistan economic development.
The abbreviation, which means ‘sex worker’ in Hindi, began trending on Twitter, soon after it was announced.
RANDI will have two co-chairpersons, represented from both countries.
Chinese President Xi Jinping is in Pakistan to launch $46 billion worth of projects in energy and infrastructure construction.
On Monday, Xi Jinping and Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif oversaw their ministers and other officials signing 51 deals.
Here are some of the tweets:
Randi sounds like one of those talking dolls because she keeps saying the same annoying thing 100 times

If Pakistan, China and AAP form a joint Think-Tank, it would be called Randi-Rona.

Waisey shouldn't Research and Development International be abbreviated as RADI and not RANDI?

Manmohan Singh will call Nawaz Sharif anytime soon and take revenge for the #DehatiAurat Comment #RANDI

Research & Development International was shortened to RANDI by China and Pakistan. Bappi Lahiri did far far better in naming someone.

When a term like 'Randi' ( i cringe while typing ) trends on social media by a patriotic brigade, you know why there was a nirbhaya case !

Not surprised that China and Pakistan's economic think tank is called RANDI. China has always been a Red Light Area. #MaoZeDONG
