Pink poster war in Secundarabad for TRS plenary

Padma Rao, Talasani compete for visibility
Hyderabad: The upcoming TRS plenary and public meeting has led to a pink poster war in the city. If followers of excise minister T. Padma Rao, “Tiger Pajjanna”, are covering main thoroughfares like Rashtrapati Road and other places across Secunderabad with posters and cut-outs, supporters of commercial taxes minister T. Srinivas Yadav are not far behind.
Posters of Mr Srinivas Yadav with “Mee Talasani” in bold, inviting party leaders and workers for the TRS plenary session at the Lal Bahadur Stadium and the public meeting at Secunderabad Parade Grounds, dot dividers on RP Road and other places.
Interestingly, other than photos of Chief Minister and TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, those of irrigation minister T. Harish Rao, IT minister K.T. Rama Rao and TRS MP K. Kavitha figure in almost every poster.
“They are the key leaders of the party. There is nothing to hide. They call the shots hence they figure in almost every poster. No party leader can dare ignore them,” a TRS legislator told this newspaper.
Ministers Padma Rao and Srinivas Yadav hog the limelight as they are playing key roles in the arrangements for both functions in the city; there’s also the fact that both were elected as MLAs from the city.
While Mr Padma Rao’s supporters have put up a huge cut out of his at the open area of former City Light Hotel on RP Road, Mr Yadav’s supporters are planning a cut out opposite it.
Apart from them, it is Home Minister Mr Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mr Mohd Mahamood Ali and TRS Greater Hyderabad president Mr M. Hanumantha Rao, whose posters are visible prominently.
The Home minister said elaborate arrangements were on for the party plenary and public meeting. “About 10 lakh people will attend the public meeting at the Parade Grounds. We will extend all support to party workers,” he added.
According to party sources, thousands of pink posters have been ordered for the meets. While some posters have been sponsored by local ministers, others have been ordered by party leaders from the city and other districts. TRS posters dot every vantage point including the Metro rail pillars.
