Errors galore in SSLC results

IT@School has not officially published the results but gave a link to PRD site

KOCHI: Many students and teachers were shocked to see grades of some of the subjects missing when the SSLC results were published on Monday.

Students from several districts and even Lakshadweep have reported their grades missing from the scorecard published on the website.

Some were rendered speechless to find they are not eligible for higher studies. Students having D+ and above grades are eligible for higher studies but students having D+ and above are shown in the scorecard otherwise.

At Government Higher Secondary School Kalvathy, Fort Kochi, the grade of physics of 21 students was missing. The school has been registering 100 percent success for the past four years.

Late night reports said the district-wise results were not available anywhere. IT@School has not officially published the results but gave a link to PRD site.

There are also reports that the statistics presented by the education minister at his press conference were not fully correct. “We don’t know what to do with this,” said a teacher involved in the processes from preparation to valuation.

“The Pareeksha Bhavan tried to rush into declaring the results to meet the deadline”. Teachers say newly-developed software was used for publishing results this time and problems started on the day one.

“Serious problems cropped up when teachers tried to upload scores. In some cases the registered numbers were found missing,” said the teacher.

“The deadline for publishing result was April 16. When they could not meet the deadline, the next attempt was to publish it as early as possible without rectifying errors”.

Last year, the result document with all relevant statistics was voluminous with about 67 pages. On the contrary, this year’s document had only six pages.
