Sarkar 3 on the cards?
RGV, apparently, has also met the Bachchans and discussed the basic plot of the film
He may have churned out a few flops over the years, but one can’t deny Ram Gopal Varma’s expertise when it comes to directing crime dramas. One of them is Sarkar starring Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan that released in 2005 and garnered good box office collections apart from critical praise. In 2008 came Sarkar Raj, a sequel, again with a decent box office run. Now the buzz is that the director is planning the film’s third installment.
A source told us, “He has been working on the idea ever since Sarkar Raj released, but didn’t want to take it forward until he was entirely sure of what he was doing. He kept on making movies in Telugu until recently, when he finally cracked the idea of the third installment.”
RGV, apparently, has also met the Bachchans and discussed the basic plot of the film with them. So are the Bachchans on board? A source said, “They have liked the idea and have told RGV to take the concept ahead. But since RGV has left for Poland to shoot another film, it will be a while before everything is finalised.” We sent RGV a text message, but got no reply.
