CM had reportedly asked officials to look at possibilities for bringing back the jewels
Hyderabad: The Centre has made it clear that it has not received any proposal from Telangana government to hand over the Nizam’s jewels for permanent display in the state.
Khaja Aijazuddin, a city-based advocate responding to a report carried in Deccan Chronicle on February 1, 2015 that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is making efforts to bring back the jewellery to Hyderabad, applied for information under the Right to Information Act to the Prime Minister office.
He sought information on the steps being taken by the Centre to hand over the jewellery to the state government.
The Chief Minister had reportedly asked senior officials to look at possibilities for bringing back the jewels following a request from Princess Esra.
