Osmania doctors do autopsy on six bodies
The re-postmortem was performed following Friday’s order by the Hyderabad high court
Tiruvannamalai/Chennai: A team of doctors from Osmania University conducted fresh autopsies on six victims of the Andhra police firing incident at Tiruvannamalai government hospital on Saturday.
The re-postmortem was performed following Friday’s order by the Hyderabad high court to conduct fresh autopsies on six victims. Munusamy, Sasikumar, Perumal, Murthy, Mahendran and Murugan were six woodcutters from Tiruvannamalai among the 20 who were killed in the April 7 shoot-out in the Seshachalam forests near Tirupati.
The three, M. Taquiddin Khan, Abhijit Subhedar and K.V. Ramana Murthy, all from Osmania hospital, flew by an Air Costa flight and were received at the airport by state department officials in the morning. Immediately, they proceeded to Tiruvanamalai, about 190 km from here, by road. Another team of nine doctors has directly travelled there from Andhra Pradesh. All five bodies are kept at the Thiruvanamalai government hospital.
Met with objections raised by relatives of the deceased over the brutal killing, the Hyderabad high court directed on Friday, teams of medical experts from either Osmania Hospital or Gandhi Hospital to conduct fresh postmortems.
