Adilabad: Move over IPL. In a bid to turn “ripples into waves”, enthusiasts are trying to form Telangana Cricket League (TCL) to highlight local talent.
And the names of the teams are as creative as it gets with royalty, wildlife and even the weather thrown in for good measure: Hyderabad Hunters, Ranga Reddy Panthers, Nizam, Mahbubnagar Thunders, Karimnagar Warriors, Adilabad Tigers, Warangal Royals, Nalgonda Riders, Khammam Kings, Medak Lions, and Secunderabad Champions.
The aim is to take the T20 format to the district level, giving a platform for rural players to showcase their talent. TCL, with the logo “Impossible is nothing, let us turn ripples into waves”, is not affiliated with the BCCI or HCA.
