Singapore plan is free, part of vision for India

Mutual investments likely in AP and Singapore

Singapore: The Singapore government has ruled out any agenda and monetary benefits behind helping AP in its master plan. It is free of cost and AP has to do its own cost benefit analysis of acquiring fertile land.

When asked what kind of symbiotic benefit Singapore is looking at by giving AP’s capital master plan Singapore government has clarified it is being done as part of overall strategic cooperation with India like for setting up skill centres in Delhi, Rajasthan, other areas in Gujarat and not expecting any direct benefit or money out of it. It is also confident of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu delivering, the goods.

However Singapore government said there would be the possibility of mutual investments in AP and Singapore.

“If India develops there is lot of tourism and economic opportunities mutually and there are 5,000 Indian companies which invested in Singapore. Within India it is not possible to work with every state. We are too small,” Mr Shanmugam said.
