Two-year-old cryogenically frozen child awaits technology to resurrect her

Cryonics, or preservation after death has been a much discussed topic in the past. But recently a two-year old girl from Thailand by the name of Matheryn Naovaratpong became the world’s youngest person to be cryogenically frozen, according to Motherboard. Cryonics is the process by which a human beings can be preserved at very low temperatures with the goal of being restored at some point in the future.
In other words, this might very well be their only shot at surviving.
Matheryn Naovaratpong's parents decided to have her cryogenically frozen in the hopes that science in the future will able to do what cannot be achieved now.
The two-year-old had been diagonsed with ependymoblastoma, a form of cancer that affects children. After several efforts, the little girl succumbed to the disease but moments after her untimely death, the girl’s body was cryogenically frozen by Arizon-based
Alcor Life Extension Foundation
. Alcor is the most renowned company in the world when it comes to cryonics.
Cryonics seems like a long shot, but perhaps in the future this type of procedure will be common.
