Tigmanshu Dhulia who is gearing up to make his next film, based on a female gangster, isn’t giving away the name of the protagonist just yet. There is, however, a buzz that Huma Qureshi may be his choice for the role. Says the director, “Yes, I am in talks with Huma, but until someone signs the dotted line, I won’t announce the name. I haven’t closed the deal yet.”
When it comes to portraying female gangsters, Dhulia believes that the plot hasn’t been explored much. But he admits to being a huge fan of Shabana Azmi and her character in Godmother. “I have watched Godmother multiple times. I want my script to be powerful and I want a leading lady who’ll add more power to the role.”
The film is in its pre-production stage already and after the debacle of Bullet Raja with Saif Ali Khan, Tigmanshu wants to ensure that he doesn’t tamper with the essence of the film in a bid to raise its commercial value.
