Their homes, which hardly receive any supply in their taps at normal times, were flooded with water. The Water Board’s distribution pipeline near Falaknuma Bridge had burst due to pressure and the water continued to gush till 4.30 am when officials closed the valve and repaired the line.

The electricity was cut off and the pressure of water was so much that it was gushing two-stories high.”
Residents said the police was immediately informed and around 7.30 am the Water Board officials reached the spot. Even after closing the valve, water was still leaking and 10 houses were keen-deep in water.
According to Water Board authorities, the subsidiary pipeline running parallel to the big pipeline of Krishna Phase I had burst due to high pressure. .
Vijay Kumar Reddy, general manager (transmission), said, “The valve arrangement lot loosened and water started leaking. Within half-an hour of receiving the alert, officials closed the valve and started repair works.”
