Alair terror suspect’s father wants encounter policemen booked
Hyderabad: The father of one of the deceased in the April 7 Alair encounter moved the High Court challenging the action of the police in not registering a murder case against police officers who took part in killing of Viquaruddin and four other terror suspects.
Md Ahmed, father of Md Haneef, who was killed in the encounter, and two of his family members, urged the court to order a CBI probe into the incident in which four others — Viquaruddin, Md Jakeer, Sayed Amjad Ali and Izar Khan — were also shot dead.
They alleged that the police had shot dead all the five, who were undertrials, at point blank range in the escort vehicle while bringing them from Warangal to Hyderabad. Besides, the Alair police had hastily conducted a post-mortem and had not disclosed the report, the petitioners said.
They alleged that the Warangal SP had turned a blind eye to a complaint lodged by them against the escort police.
