Domestic help steals Rs 2.5 lakh from Global Hospital chief
Hyderabad: A male domestic help allegedly stole Rs 2.5 lakh and 100 gram of gold from Global Hospital chairman K. Ravindranath’s house at Jubilee Hills and escaped to his native town in East Godavari. The West Zone police arrested the accused V. Venkat Satyanarayana, and recovered the loot.
According to the police, the accused Satyanarayana, 24, who is a native of Amalapuram, worked in the doctor’s house for five months, and left earlier this week. “He told the house owner that he had got another job in his native place, and left the job on April 3. The house owners were not suspicious when he packed and left. However, a few days later, they realised that cash and ornaments were missing from the almirah. They approached us and lodged a complaint,” said K. Muttu, additional inspector of Jubilee Hills, who investigated the case.
The police tracked the accused to his native town, where he had disposed off a few ornaments. However, cops recovered the entire stolen property and arrested him.
The investigation officials said that Satyanarayana used to sneak into the room when nobody was there in the house and stole the money little by little. He did not raise any suspicion while leaving the place.
Police booked a case for theft and sent him to judicial remand on Tuesday.
