Mumbai: A massive fire broke out in Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Moon Moon Sen and her daughter Riya Sen’s suburban apartments in Andheri in the early hours of Sunday. The fire was suspected to have been caused by a short circuit in the air conditioner, and engulfed the twin flats.
According to reports, the fire brigade received a call reporting a fire on the sixth level of Ruia Park building. Most of the actress’ furniture and electronic items in the adjoining flats were destroyed in the fire. However the fire brigade successfully extinguished the fire, using high-pressure water jets.
The actress and her family immediately evacuated the apartment and stayed with a neighbour.
