TRS to use plenary to start its GHMC poll campaign
Hyderabad: The TRS is planning to use the party plenary and public meeting on the occasion of the party’s foundation day celebrations in the city on April 24 and 27 to sound the bugle for GHMC polls.
The TRS GHMC ad hoc committee headed by Deputy CM Mohd. Mahamood Ali, home minister Nayani Narasimha, excise minister T. Padma Rao, commercial taxes minister T. Srinivas Yadav, GHMC TRS convener Mynampally Hanumantha Rao and city TRS leader Peddi Reddy Sudarshan held a closed door meeting with 500 odd party activists and asked them to make the plenary a big success in the run up to the GHMC polls.
Mr Narasimha Reddy said the TRS had a strong footing in Hyderabad and a sincere effort by cadres can ensure a big win for the party.
He reminded party workers of the schemes launched by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in both rural and urban areas, especially Hyderabad. “The Congress is leaderless, TD is cadre less and the BJP is vote less in Hyderabad. The Opposition is daydreaming of a win after our loss of the Hyderabad-Mahbubnagar-Ranga Reddy graduate MLC seat. They are no match for us,” Mr Narasimha Reddy reportedly told party cadre.
The Chief Minister had asked ministers in the GHMC area to work out strategies for the GHMC polls along with the plenary and public meetings. The TRS has decided to drape Hyderabad with pink flags, banners, cutouts and posters as a show of strength.
Mr Narasimha Reddy said ministers will look after all arrangements for the plenary and public meeting. “We are ready to face the GHMC elections. The TRS is on a strong wicket,” he said.
