White House not to be demolished
Hyderabad: White House and the Country Club of India will not be demolished for the Metro Rail as they have surrendered a part of their compound and the alignment has been designed in such a manner that it will be a smooth curve for the trains, stated managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail, N.V.S. Reddy.
Mr Reddy added, “The front compound area of White House and the Country Club of India has been acquired by HMR. The Metro Rail passes through this stretch of road where the existing hoardings will be removed and there is enough space for the viaduct. The train has to turn at this particular junction and it has to be a smooth turn, hence the curvature is of that shape.”
Hyderabad Metro Rail has given the requirements to L&T Metro Rail, which has designed and approved the route accordingly.
The Metro will turn from Begumpet to Greenlands Ameerpet areas. At this junction too there is a superstructure elevation.
There are four superstructure elevations, at Panjagutta, Greenlands, Parade Grounds and Nalgonda X roads, where the Metro goes above the flyovers. Here the pillars are 20 to 30 meters high.
One of the works, at Nalgonda X Roads, is already compete. A senior officer said, “At Nalgonda X Roads, most of the work was carried out at night. Special launching schemes were planned and traffic movement was not restricted below the flyover. Similar process is going to be followed at Panjagutta, Greenlands and also at Parade Grounds.”
