Panel for return of the native

‘Even spouse cases will not be considered if the employees are non-locals’

Hyderabad: ‘Nativity’ instead of ‘choice’ will play a decisive role during allocation of employees to Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh.

Even “spouse cases” will not be considered if the employees are non-locals and they will be shifted to their own state based on their nativity.

Though the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, mentions giving options to state cadre employees to choose between TS and AP, following demands made by various employees’ organisations from both states, the Kamalnathan Committee has decided to consider nativity as the main criterion before considering options. To determine nativity, school records from Class VI to X will be verified; the state where an employees has pursued schooling for a maximum period out of these five years, will be treated as the employee’s native state.

The committee is set to seek options from April 30, temporary allocation will be made by June 21 and final allocation by August 30.

Initially, when AP was bifurcated in June 2014, there was a greater demand from Seemandhra employees, who were working in Hyderabad and surrounding districts, to continue in the TS cadre. This was strongly opposed by TS who had demanded allocation of employees based on their nativity.

However, when AP increased the retirement age from 58 to 60 years in August last year, Seemandhra employees changed their minds.
