Hyderabad: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her married neighbour at Hayatnagar for nearly two weeks. The incident came to light only recently. The accused is Krishna, 24, a labourer.
They are both residents of Old Hayatnagar. The victim discontinued studies after Class VI and stays at home doing household chores.
Hayatnagar police said the victim’s parents have separated. She is well acquainted with Krishna. Her mother, a labourer, goes to work during the day.
Police said Krishna took advantage of the absence of the victim’s mother and sexually exploited her.
“In the absence of her mother, the accused raped the victim in her house. He had been continuously sexually exploiting her for two weeks. The incident came to light when the victim told her mother. Based on her complaint a rape case under relevant Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was booked and is being investigated,” said P. Venkateshwaralu, Hayatnagar inspector.
Police said the accused is yet to be arrested. The victim was sent for a medical examination to a hospital.
