Nasscom appoints B.V.R. Mohan Reddy as new chairman
Hyderabad: The newly-elected Nasscom chairman, B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, said on Wednesday that he will work towards making the technology industry body’s decision-making process more inclusive by giving adequate representation to smaller IT companies. “Nasscom has 1,800 members. Of which, top 200 make up for around 95 per cent of the industry revenue, while 1,600 companies are small and contribute just five per cent of the revenue. Such small companies need our attention and support to grow big. So we have decided to have two representatives from small companies in the Nasscom executive council,” Mr Reddy, who is the founder and chairman of Hyderabad-based Cyient, told this newspaper, after he was elected as the Nasscom chairman for 2015-16.
Spelling out his other priorities as the Nasscom chairman, Mr Reddy said he will work with governments for their projects like Digital India, Smart Cities and Skill Development to bring about transformation in India using technology.
Mr Reddy said that Nasscom will also work with governments’ to support startups and will create entrepreneurial ecosystem for startups to flourish in India.
