Tax stay extended for AP vehicles in Telangana

Hyderabad: A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday extended the interim relief granted to certain contract carriage operators who moved the court against the vehicle tax imposed by Telangana state till Saturday. The bench was dealing petitions by several private operators challenging the Telangana government imposing motor vehicle tax on AP vehicles.

Earlier, the bench had asked Telangana officials not to collect tax if the operators execute an indemnity bond for tax demanded and adjourned the case to Tuesday. The bench posted the matter to Friday for passing final interim orders.
