Gold futures down 0.19 per cent on profit-booking
Gold prices fell by Rs 52, or 0.19 per cent, to trade at Rs 26,945 per 10 grams
New Delhi: Gold futures declined 0.19 per cent to Rs 26,945 per 10 grams as investors indulged in booking profits at prevailing levels amidst a weak trend in global markets. Gold prices fell by Rs 52, or 0.19 per cent, to trade at Rs 26,945 per 10 grams for delivery in June at the Multi Commodity Exchange.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in August shed Rs 47, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 27,085 per 10 grams in 13 lots. Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators at prevailing levels and weakness in the metal overseas led to fall in gold prices at futures trade here. Globally, gold slipped to USD 1,213.21 an ounce in Singapore from on Monday USD 1,214.84.
