Water supply will be back in Hyderabad today
Hyderabad: The Water Board on Sunday evening completed the integration of the Krishna Phase III pipeline with the earlier two phases.
Water Board officials said supply would be normal from Monday. The city would be getting an additional 45 million gallons per day from Phase III.
“The 24-hour shutdown of Krishna Phase-I and II to enable completion of works of interconnecting Krishna Phase-III raw water pipeline was successful. The work has been completed and water reached the city at 6 pm,” said an official from the Water Board.
Earlier in the day, though, water supply was delayed and residents had to make do with whatever little water they could get.
The Water Board had only warned of a slight delay.
Many areas couldn't get water tankers because of the huge demand. “When I called the ‘Dial a Tanker’ service in the morning, I was told that the tanker cannot be sent today. I then called one of the HMWSSB officials who said that water would be released by the evening. However, that was not the case,” said Vasudha Kulkarni, a resident of Nimboliadda in Kacheguda.
