New Delhi: Speculation was rife on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon expand his Cabinet by inducting a few new faces, which will include PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti, whose PDP is running a coalition government with the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir.
The political spectrum was abuzz with speculation that Mr Modi might expand the Cabinet before he sets out on a four-nation tour on April 8, though there was no official word from the government.
Ms Mufti, whose father Mufti Muhammad Sayeed is the CM of Jammu and Kashmir, is likely to make it to the Union Cabinet, in a move that is aimed at strengthening the coalition.
It has been speculated upon for a month now whether Ms Mufti would be part of the Cabinet after the PDP-BJP Government assumed office in Jammu and Kashmir.
