Hyderabad: The Joint Entrance Examination (Main), for eligibility to JEE (Advanced) and admission to National Institutes of Technology, will be held on Saturday.
About 1.3 lakh students are expected to appear for the exam in Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh, with a majority of them writing the test in Hyderabad.
The offline mode of the exam will be held in two parts on Saturday in Hyderabad, Warangal, Khammam, Guntur and Tirupati. The online version of the JEE (Main) will be held on April 10 and 11.
More than 50,000 students are expected to attempt the exam on Saturday in Hyderabad while another 30,000 students are expected to write the exam in Guntur. These are the two main cities where most of the students will appear for the JEE (Main).
Help desks have been setup across all the cities. Admit cards have to been uploaded on the website of the JEE (Main), which students can download using their application numbers.
About 10 lakh students are expected to appear for the test all over the country. Through JEE (Main), students will compete for eligibility to JEE (Advanced) about 25,000 seats in NITs and other top institutions. There has been no change in the pattern of the question papers.
Experts say students may leave about 20 per cent of the questions in the test and still qualify comfortably.
Ajay Antony, director, JEE, TIME, said, “Students should go in with a clear mindset. They can leave about 20 per cent questions which are on the tougher side. It is perfectly okay for these questions to be left. Time management will be the key for students.”
