Hyderabad: A medico was killed and three others were injured when their car met with an accident at Narsingi on Friday.
The incident occurred when one of the medicos who was driving lost control and rammed into a road divider and an electric pole and turned turtle.
The victims were on way to join internship at the MNR Medical College in Sangareddy in Medak district when the mishap occurred.
The deceased has been identified as Mir Salman Ali, 23, a resident from an area near the Nehru Zoological Park in Bahadurpura.
The injured are Abdul Rahman, 22, a resident of Mehdipatnam, Amreen Nishad, 21, and Erum Fazal, 21, both residents of Tolichowki.
All of them were studying medicine at MNR Medical College. Narsingi police said the students had recently completed MBBS from MNR Medical College and Hospital and had joined internship there.
As they had to work on Friday they had planned to leave together. Mir Salman Ali who brought his Swift Dzire car picked up the others from Mehdipatnam. They were travelling in the car driven by Salman Ali from Gachibowli towards Sangareddy via Outer Ring Road.
When they approached Continental Hospitals in Gachibowli, Salman lost control of the car.
“Salman was speeding. He lost control and the car rammed a road divider. After that it hit an electric pole and turned turtle. The vehicle is believed to have turned upside down several times before stopping,” said sub-inspector C. Shankar Goud.
Salman died on the spot while the others were rescued by locals. They were shifted to Continental Hospitals and are being treated. Their condition is said to be stable.
A case was booked for negligence under Sections 304A and 337 of IPC. Salman’s body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital and was later handed over to his family after postmortem.
