Bizmen afraid of setting up industries in Kadapa: Chandrababu Naidu

Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu kicked up a political storm by saying that entrepreneurs are expressing fear to set up industries in Kadapa district.

However, he reiterated that his government would invite investments and give necessary permissions within 21 days to set up industries and provide good atmosphere for investments.

Speaking on the sidelines of the inaugration of PepsiCo at Sri City SEZ at Chittoor on Friday, he said that they have taken steps to provide about 10 lakh acres of land so as to enable setting up industries and made it clear that he would not compromise on law and order.

He said that his government aims to provide 10 lakh jobs by 2020 and promised to provide necessary infrastructure to set up industries to generate employment opportunities. Talking about 4G services, he said it will be within reach of people by June in all districts. “The government has taken steps to develop the AP industrially and the coast is helpful to set up industries in the state,” Mr Naidu said.

Earlier, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Japanese Help Desk which is a one-stop-administration and media centre.

Later, he inaugurated a 11 operational units that were set up with an investment of Rs 980 crore and performed groundbreaking ceremony for 11 more units that will be set up with an investment of Rs 1,450 crore.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were AP forest minister Bojja Gopala Krishna Reddy, minister for municipal administration P. Narayana, PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, consul general of Japan in Chennai, Seiji Baba, consul general of Malaysia in Chennai Chitra Devi Ramaiah, district MLA Satyaveedu Y. Aditaya, Sri City’s chairman Mr Sriniraju, and its MD Ravindra Sannareddy.
