No 4-incher, Apple to unveil the iPhone 7 this year

Rumours about a 4-incher iPhone 6 series smartphone are on the run

Apple unveiled the iPhone 6 last year and has managed to sell millions of the two models around the world. Now that we have seen what Apple does with their flagships, it was predicted that Apple won’t build an iPhone 7 this time, but will release the iPhone 6C, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus with the iPhone 6C being a 4-incher, catering to the budget segment. Rumours are already doing rounds about Apple announcing the iPhone 6 siblings this year and not an iPhone 7. Apple did a similar trend the year before with the iPhone 5C.

However, we now hear something new this time. MacRumours reported that Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims Apple will abstain from launching a 4-incher, but only the two others and the main reason was o do with the Force Touch sensors. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a respectable track record at reporting on Apple's upcoming plans, issued a note to investors on Thursday that claims the next-generation iPhone will have a FPC-made capacitive Force Touch sensor under the backlight, laminated with metal shielding. Kuo adds that the change may be significant enough for Apple to call its next iPhone the "iPhone 7" instead of the so-called "iPhone 6s," reported MacRumours.

The analyst claimed that the hardware design of the Force Touch will be different as compared to the technology that is used in the recently launched Apple Watch and the 12-inch Retina MacBook. The new technology would sport a new improved Force Touch hardware will monitor the contact area. Instead of directly detecting the pressure applied by a finger, it will detect where and how a finger touches to determine how much pressure is being applied. The sensor will use capacitive technology and thin FPC material in order to save on space.

Taking these rumours into consideration, what do you think will Apple run into us?
