Two set ablaze on footpath in Mahankali, Market areas
Hyderabad: Two persons were allegedly set ablaze in Market and Mahankali areas in the early hours of Thursday. Police said the attackers poured petrol on them and set them ablaze. They were rescued by locals and shifted to hospital. Cops are examining surveillance camera footages to track down the attackers.
In the first case, Narsing Rao, 30, was attacked while he was sleeping at the Saibaba Temple in Bhoiguda. Sources said he was addicted to alcohol. On Wednesday night he slept near the temple. At around 1.30 am on Thursday some people poured petrol on his back and set him ablaze. He sustained 20% burns.
An auto rickshaw driver named Anand, 50, who was sleeping in his vehicle near the Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad was set ablaze at around 3.30 am. He sustained about 50 per cent burns. Locals said they heard some bikers shouting before Narsing Rao was attacked.
