Telangana babus asked to vacate quarters

Hyderabad: The TS government is all set to takeover 11 acres of prime land in Panjagutta which houses around 70 IAS quarters that were built nearly five decades ago.

Officers from both AP and Telangana reside in these quarters and the government has asked the officers to vacate the quarters as soon as possible.

However, AP officers are objecting to the unilateral decision of the TS government citing Section 8 (1) of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, which states that the Governor will have the final say on the “management and allocation of government buildings in the common capital area of Hyderabad”.
