Impostor woman threatens suicide if denied justice

Ruby Chaudhry stayed at National Academy masquerading as an IAS probationer

Dehradun: Accusing authorities of shielding Deputy Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration Saurabh Jain, the woman who stayed at the prestigious institute masquerading as an IAS probationer with the help of a fake ID card allegedly issued by the official today threatened to commit suicide if she did not get justice.

Alleging a collective effort by the authorities to save the influential IAS officer the woman called Ruby Chaudhry dared him to come out in the open if he was not wrong and demanded an objective probe into the whole episode.

"There is a collective attempt to protect Jain who was Uttarkashi District Magistrate in the past and also perhaps held an important position in Dehradun.”

"Ministers and cops have all become one to shield him. After all why has he not been questioned so far? If he (Jain) is not wrong why doesn't he have the guts to come out in the open?" She asked and threatened to commit suicide if she did not get justice.

Accusing the authorities at Nehru Colony police station here of not filing even a zero report in connection with the case, she said she does not expect much from the ongoing probe and demanded that an impartial investigation be launched into it.

She also said the episode has adversely affected her ties with both her own family and her in-laws driving her into deep depression.

"I am in deep depression. I have lost my ties with my family and in-laws. If I don't get justice, I will have no choice but to commit suicide," she said.

Demanding an objective investigation into the case, she said if justice meant punitive action against her she was ready for it.

"If I am wrong I should be punished but if Jain or the academy administration is wrong they should be punished too,” she said.

When contacted police sources said further action in the matter depends on the report of the SIT, which is still awaited.

The woman had accused Jain of issuing her a fake ID card in return for money to facilitate her stay at the institute prompting DGP B S Sidhu to hand over the probe in the case to the SIT headed by SP CID Shahjehan Ansari.

Chaudhry had alleged that she had paid him Rs 5 lakh out of a total of Rs 20 lakh which she was to pay him as a deal for a job at the institute.

Though booked under sections 420/467/468/471 of the IPC, Chaudhry has not been arrested so far.
