Nabard to set up separate regional offices in Telangana, AP
Hyderabad: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has set up separate regional offices for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.
Speaking to the media on Thursday Nabard chief general manager Jiji Mammen said that the AP and Telangana regional offices have exceeds of over Rs 4,000 crore disbursements as on March 31, 2015.
Explaining the priority areas for this fiscal he said capital formation in agriculture through Agri term lending will be their focus. He said launching and implementation of more number of area based schemes keeping in view the potential areas and activities with adequate accredit support would be ensured.
He said support of infrastructure development for both states with specific requirements pertaining to irrigation, drinking water, dry and wet storage, rural sanitation and health and education would receive special attention.
Strengthening Rural financial institutions, especially the newly reorganized State Cooperative Banks of Telangana and AP to ensure seamless flow of credit to the rural populace will continue to remain their focus, he said.
