Andhra Pradesh officers fume over Telangana State treatment
Hyderabad: Middle-level officers from AP serving Telangana are furious over the manner in which the TS government is treating them.
The TS government surrendered 12 officers of the rank of deputy secretaries, personal secretaries and section officers to General administration department suddenly citing “administrative reasons”. The officers had settled in Hyderabad for over two decades. “It’s a move to harass us and create a fear to ensure that we do not opt for TS. Since we have not yet given our consent to relocate to the Kamalanathan committee, they fear that we may remain here,” D. Murali Mohan, a section officer, said.
There are 107 officers and other staff from AP serving the TS government. Their continuance is seen as stumbling block for promotions of TS staffers.
Another reason for AP officers feeling insecure is that they may be shifted out of Secr-etariat to districts. “The government is theirs and they can do anything,” a woman section officer said.
AP Officers took up the issue with the chief secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao and he reportedly advised them to give it in writing. He was learnt to have told them to wait. “We will wait. If officers are given some posting in Secretariat, it is okay. Otherwise, we will meet the Governor and if necessary go to court for justice. We cannot stay endlessly without posting and salaries,” said Uppuluri Murali Krishna, leader of AP Employees Association.
