Lucknow: In a shocking incident, the parents of an 11-year-old rape victim have got the girl married to the man accused of raping her. The accused is almost double the age of the girl.
The incident took place in Bulandshahr district where the girl was raped by a 28-year- old man two months ago.
The girl got pregnant and when the parents learnt about it, they pleaded with the accused to marry the girl.
A Muslim cleric from the nearby mosque is said to have advised her parents to get her married to the same man who had raped her.
The girl, a resident of Aurangabad area, was one-month pregnant when she got married.
The parents, when confronted by some social activists, said that their daughter was in love with the man and hence they had agreed to the marriage.
The police said that they had not received any complaint and hence no case has been registered in this matter.
