Passenger thanks pilot for safe flight, heartwarming note goes viral
In the wake of the Germanwings plane crash, a passenger thanked the pilot for a safe journey in a hand-written letter. The touching note of thanks has gone viral on social media.
The recent Germanwings tragedy which took place in the French Alps, claimed 150 lives. French prosecuters have said Andreas Lubitz, the 27-year-old pilot of Germanwings Flight 9525, crashed the plane deliberately.

The letter, written by a passenger named Bethanie, felt the need to ‘reach out’ and ‘extended a compassion hand’.
The note says, “I understand an event so horrific as this one affects those with your responsibility more than others, and maybe sometimes a kind word, random but heartfelt, can make a difference.”

“Thank you for taking me home. Thank you for doing so safely. Thank you for allowing me to live the life I do in Spain and split my time with my family in England too. You make the excitement I feel now to see my family possible.
"I've had a wonderful flight and hope you have too. You're making a massive difference and you're the reason I can smile tonight."

The letter, which was shared on Twitter by Jai Dillon, an airline pilot based in Cheshire, wrote, “A letter given to a colleague from a passenger onboard his aircraft. Providing proof that we're all in this together.”
According to the London Evening Standard, he said he wanted to "share the positive message."
