Surprise showers cool city, more rains likely
Rains caused by Southern and South-Eastern winds: MET department officials
Hyderabad: Sudden unseasonal rains took the Hyderabadis by surprise on Monday. Isolated spells of rain were reported from Nampally, Toli Chowki, Secunderabad, Begumpet, Mehdipatnam, old city etc. Though the mercury level did drop, motorists and pedestrians were caught unprepared.
Indian Meteorological Department said that that isolated rains may continue in the city for at least two more days.
Officials from MET department said that the rains were caused by Southern and South-Eastern winds.
Thunderstorms and isolated rainfall havebeen predicted for Telangana and North-Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the coming three days. Hailstorms are also expected in a few parts of Telangana, the Met officials said.
