Mumbai: Gautam Gulati is making an all-out effort to market his popularity after his ‘Big Boss 8’ victory. The actor who was always conscious about his appearance on the show, often flaunted his sculpted physique. The actor has featured in a couple of short films and documentaries but only got noticed after his stint on the reality show.
In a golden turn of events, Ekta Kapoor has now signed the TV actor for a three-film deal. That’s not all. According to reports, he has also signed two more films where he plays a con man and a director, respectively. But a very few know that the actor had auditioned for ‘Aashiqui 2’.
The two minute audition clip has Gautam enacting a scene, where he is wishing his father on his second marriage. However, instead the actor ended up by pulling a hamming act. The video was uploaded by his brother, Mohit in 2012, prior to Gautam getting golden ticket to the industry.
'Aashiqui 2', featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor revolved around a fading singing sensation. The film went on to become a blockbuster with its mesmerising string of songs.
Winning 'Bigg Boss 8' has indeed turned out to be a great catalyst for Gautam’s film career. He gained popularity for his character Vikram Rathi in ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’.
